My apologies to everyone for not keeping up with my postings lately - things have been really busy in our house over the last couple of weeks. I had a convention all last weekend and my husband has started a new job - it's very hectic around here, more than usual. I'll be posting several updates tonight to try and make up for the lack of ephemera over the last little while - hope everyone's having a great week!

Vintage Childrens book illustration

As many of you know - I get the majority of the images I post from books that I get from flea markets and auctions. I don't often get a lot of colour images (but I hope to in the future!) So this one was a little special to me - a full colour childrens book illustration from the end of the 1800's - I just love it!

My sincere apologies for having not updated as regularly as I should have been over the past couple of days - I took the sunshine for granted and (with red hair and freckles) stayed out far too long in the sun and have had sun stroke on and off for the last week. It's going to be hard to sleep tonight - I can't imagine how bad it would be if I was wearing a t-shirt and not a 3/4 length. Argh! I'm so foolish!

I like the one above the best - I think it gives a more clear look. And I love that it's mail oriented (hurray for snail mail!)

Country Mouse and City Mouse

From the old childrens story, Country Mouse, City Mouse - I found this in a book with a series of childrens stories featuring two mice - one dressed in country/work clothes and the other dressed more dashing.

Herd of Pigs

This was nabbed from a childrens book - it's a herd of pigs rather than the more typical herd of sheep, along with a girl and boy herder.

Goblin and Princess

Here is a Goblin-esque creature in a fairy tale setting with a prince and princess. He could be a troll or some sort of giant, judging by the differences in size.
